chuckling. My poetry mentor, Peter, who is a lifelong poet/Zen teacher (I told him I had no idea what this poem is about) said of it, "that doesn't matter. It's a very emotional poem and stands on its own." I had learned about Roman balances, still made by one man in Italy today, that are fabulously accurate, and have been made since Roman times. That's where this poem started.
