Will this ever end this metronomic sensation a repeating tsunami wave upon wave upon wave that opioids barely dent and no position relieves The oriole on the feeder outside sucks in grape jelly unaware flies off to his nearby nest responsible for keeping his brood alive These flashes of black and marigold nourish— for a few moments warmth rolls through my body, subsiding pain
The oriole becomes the quiet counterweight to the pain. I especially admire how you never force hope into the poem—it arrives only for "a few moments," and that makes it believable. Wishing you many more flashes of black and marigold.
A moment's relief beautifully expressed. Wishing you more such moments. Take care, Amrita🩵
Thank you, Amy--and just that, a moment. For me, right now, gold!
Amrita - beautiful and I hope your pain subsides 💛💛
Beautiful poem. Take tender care of yourself. 💕
Pain and beauty, achingly, exquisitely expressed.
I wish for you an oriole to return again and again to relieve your pain Amrita. xoxo
"warmth rolls...." how wonderful. keep on rollin'!
