scaredy-dog two-and-a half almost an adult (we hope) first time at the beach— with previous dogs’ delight, we imagined what a treat one look at the waves shaking with fear she tugged at the leash straining toward the car her whole body displaying
He won't even set foot on them. When we approach a bridge, he shakes and refuses to budge. We have to carry him over. It's true of road bridges and trail bridges as well, anytime there is water underneath. Makes me wonder about his past.

“They were coming at me, mom! One after another, just endless oppression. Thanks for taking me home. Much safer here on the couch.” The beseeching in that look!
Benny feels the same way—not a water dog! Also terrified of bridges.

I hope he doesn't weigh too much!! Was he grown when you got him?
They guessed around 10 months old— a stray. He weighs about 43lbs now.
Jazz was 7 months old when we got her. She's 55 pounds. With my early back injuries (horses) coming back to haunt me, it's best if I don't lift her.
It's confounding to me how things that happened to her earlier affect her now--and I'll never know what they were.
