Near Guérande,
marsh’s tang perfumes
the locale A hint
of metallic, sharp and clean
Ponds salt up as water
recedes The ghosts
of my brethren thick here
guarding this land
for two thousand years
My home.
Ekphrasic. Delightful word. Layered, like the earth where your ancestors built lives, still connected to those who follow.
