the drops start slow
they strike the window
slantwise—sharp and hard

but the tempo builds

pinging a staccato chant
as the downpour builds
her mind lets go
the drops ping a chant
that soothes and cheers
her mind drops down
rocked in the hammock
that soothes and cheers
it brings her home
the rocking hammock
a life-giving song
brings her home to herself
so her mind can let go
slantwise on the window
a mere glance of rain
love a good pantoum! especially when i look out my window and see a very romantic mist over the east coast of england! my mind lets go...
