Jazz with sand on her nose
Fourth Birthday Today
Our dog, finally
a grownup
puppy brain in the past
Doesn’t jump up
greets guests with grace
much prefers people
to canines Because
of her sighthound nature
to see, run after, think later
cats had better beware
Shoes are safe
but maybe not sticky pads
certainly not food
Left out on the counter,
dog will always be dog
