Feverish
Feverish
Sick, home in bed
had a feverish dream—
Our teacher assigned
daydreaming
our most important task
She said not knowing is fine,
not to feel bad
we are here to learn
what we do not know;
She taught us
wolves mate for life,
as do swans, penguins
and barn owls
Remaining grounded
in our bodies
—even when it hurts—
the most important advice
The scent of fresh rain
after a dry spell, coming
from showers falling now,
right now,
petrichor

Oh I feel for you. But I do love your poetry
Amrita, I hope you're feeling a little better today. Even with a fever, you found a way to turn uncertainty into something gentle and beautiful. Wishing you rest and a steady recovery.
