We met through comments
on a blog, or little boxes
on my screen rapport
both felt and made
Responses in a chat box,
by and by, an email shared
No matter other generations,
friendships born and tended
a few now cherished
closer than my blood kin
We might never meet in person
a loss I’ll have to bear
but the gift of knowing you at all,
what a strange, unlikely wonder
