Your daily writing is good practice, Amrita! You're an inspiration to me. Interesting to build a poem with a recipe. I never tried that. The closest I got to that was teaching high school students how to pass the standardized writing test. (a) if the prompt asks you for your favorite animal and your favorite animal is a pterodactyl, but you don't know how to spell that, make your favorite animal a dog. (b) You need to show that you know how to use semicolons. Write a simple sentence like my dog is yellow. Then add a simple clauses using however to link it. My dog is yellow; however, when he's angry he turns purple. I had a solid passing rate. :)
May the next four years be as rich Amrita!
If I live so long, I'm sure they will be! Thanks, Jan.
Bravo on five years of daily poems! Quite the accomplishment! Keep 'em coming!
will do!
Hurray! Making beauty in the world that wasn't here before.
Here is my attempt.
This roller coaster spring, warm, cold, wet, dry
The seasons are changing every day in everyway
The lilacs redolent in the unexpected heat
As surprising as our late in life grandchildren
In the delivery room, the peaceful birth
Suddenly changes as the team steps in to help the distressed newborn
The new moon rises to greet this precious life.
Wonderful poem! I hope the little one is doing well now? Love you, Arlene

What an INCREDIBLE practical way to approach those tests! Wow, lucky students.
Happy to be here!
