Art inspires art inspires art inspires art. And that creates a beautiful world. I love the addition of "now" - the recurring opportunity to behave beautifully <3
It was fun for me to respond. I'd never read that quote of Toni Morrison's before, and it's fabulous.
Our power was out most of Christmas, and the electrical technicians were on site much of the day trying to make the repair. I went out to express my gratitude, which they seemed to really appreciate. Their Christmas was upended, too!
Life in the USA feels impossible now. (and we won't leave because my son's healthcare is tied to California--the state pays for it.) My counter "attack" is to spread kindness everywhere.

Impossible circumstances do create the opportunity for beautiful behaviour! Absorb that and we can rise.

Sorry, I didn’t mean to sound trite. We can only hope change will happen as a result - maybe late 2026. May it be a better year for you.
Your response didn't seem trite at all. I'm just horrified by what's going on here, and feel powerless to change it.
Ah, those last three moving lines... that's it, isn't it? To "behave beautifully now." Thank you, Amrita, for a terrific year of daily poems!
Thank you, Jan! I've enjoyed yours as well! Your comments help keep me going! Here's to health, wellbeing, and steadiness in the new year.
Challenge, suggestion:
“behave beautifully now.”
New Year intention?
If I made them, of course! My everyday intention!
