Anxious for Clatter
Cough drops at the ready
white page watching me
manuscript by my side
too thin for the looming
deadline
The keys, expectant
anxious for clatter
can’t find my hands
which I’m sitting on
My muse floats in
small as a child’s teacup
reflecting on my table
sliver of an idea kindles
