Animal Farm
400-pound pigs
piled in the dirt
sides rising, falling
Goat faces
my direction
but her eyes stare
east and west
A copper cow chews
and flicks her tail
farm life, calm
for now
They don’t scan news
fear what’s coming
pig doesn’t realize
he’s bacon in the making
No worries
of an unknown future
no past regrets
being pig
being goat
being cow
